BATCHING PLANT OPERATION CONTROL MEASURES
Source of Pollution and Mitigati: leasure
‘The RMC plant shall be assembled at site. The concrete batching plant will incorporate
the following design and practices to minimize pollution at source:
1. Dust collector will be used to control fugitive dust from all transfer and junction points.
2, All mixing will be in the enclosed electric motor driven plant mixer, not in trucks.
3. Truck loaded with concrete will be in wet form.
4. All washing water used by the plant and storm water will be collected and stored with
in the plant and re-used in the plant.
5. No water will be discharged outside the plant boundary.
6. Noise shall be maintained within 55 -65 dBA at Logistic area boundary.
7. No solid waste will be generated from the batching plant.
Air Pollution C i
‘While operation of batch plant, dust emission occurs from following points:
1. Dust Emission during unloading of raw material.
2. Emission from Cement Silo.
3. Emission from Aggregate, Sand and Fly Ash Stockpile.
4. Emissions from access road.
5. Emission from conveyor belt
Dust Emission Control Mechanism
SLNo._| Dust Emission Point Control Measure
1 Unloading of Raw Material | Unloading in storage yard covered with

2 ‘Cement Silos Dust Collector filter to prevent dust from
going outside. (Brief working principle &
Technical details given below)
3 Stockpile Concrete wail (16.5 feet tall) shall be
Provided around the stock pile. Wetting the
stockpile frequently during dry windy
conditions. This will avoid wind-blown dust
from stockpiles and traffic areas.4 ‘Access Road Allintemnal reads shall be Concreted,
5 ‘Conveyor Belt ‘Shall be covered.
6 Mixer Shall be covered. Wet Mixing will not
generate any dust emission.
Working Principle of Dust Collector Filter
‘The filter module is designed around the steel frame. This is a plate containing a series of
parallel siots into which a number of filter elements are inserted.
Each filter element consists of needle fet bags. A jet tube is located along the mouth of
each insert header and connected via a diaphragm vaive to the compressed air manifold,
This valve is linked to a timer which controls the valve.
‘The dust laden air is drawn through the cyclonic inlet where the heavier particles fall down
into the plenum and light particles are sucked through the filter pads, so that the dust is
captured on the outer surface of tne fabric.
‘The air passes through the filter and out of the insert header down the clean side of the
fitter. To maintain continuous operation, each pad is regularly cleaned by a reverse jet of
‘compressed air. A timer activates pilot valves in sequence at predetermined intervals on a
continuous cycle. The pilot valve in turn opens the diaphragm valves.
A short burst of compressed air is released and injected by the jet tube through the insert
header into the fiter pad.
This causes a momentary reversal of the air flow and the effect is a brief controlled
inflation of the pad to dislodge the accumulated dust cake into the collectien facility.

Water Pollution Control
Raw Mix Concrete Plant requires water only for mixing the raw materials
No waste water is generated from the process.
a mixer. The average daily water consumption for RMC process would be 130 liters / cubic
meter. The max drain, sprinkling for aggregate, sand and daily cleaning would
consider from our concrete recycling plant (Simple Decantation Type) & used for the
same.
‘The Batch Plant staff toilet / Drinking water consumption would be approx. 5000 Liters
and the waste water would be carted out from the U.G septic tank.
The clear recycled water is also used for regular Batch Plant maintenance. The
resultant is also recycled again by diverting all the water as shown in the diagram.
No vehicle should be wash at site.
Sludge is not hazardless nature and it will be used in landfiling with the piant.
Noise Pollution
The Mixer will be fully covered and not create noise more than 80 dBA at source. With
increasing distance the noise level will attenuate. Other noisy parts includes cement
batchers, aggregate batchers, radial stackers, rollers, etc. which will be operated and
maintained at regular intervals to prevent excessive noise generation. The unloading
operations and movement of vehicles will generate some noise during movement.
However such movements are not continuous in nature. However the noise at plant
boundary shall remain within 55 — 65 dBA during day time.
lid Wastes Mar
jement
No solid wastes will be generated from the batching plant. Cement dust collected in
bag filters shall be reused,
