Practice Test – Essay 1

In the last few years, arts and music education has been disappearing at an alarming rate
from schools. Education institute has a standard based curriculum while ignoring the
importance of the artistic fields. However, it is said that music and art are essential,
especially for the children who are studying in secondary school.

In my opinion, creative arts as like music, are playing a very important role in the whole
educational system. First of all, we have to examine the value of those two fields in the
education plan and give some examples, in order to understand practically the effect that
they have on children. Creative and performing arts help students both physically and
mentally. Likewise, a lot of knowledge can be given through these fields while bringing joy to
children. Moreover, music opens a whole new world while it makes you a better learner.

For example, painting and sculpturing can increase the sense of touch in many infants or it
can even influence the mentality of a student. Using bright colors has been proven to be a
successful way to restore your mood and improve your concentration. On the other hand,
music increases the sense of cooperation, something that students gain while playing
together as a group or singing in a choir. Subsequently, music can be used inside the basic
school lesson in order to make children memorize some rules and grammar forms easily by
having fun, at the same time.

In conclusion, we have to admit that arts and music are useful to everyone whatever their
career path would be. Schools have the obligation to teach students how to express
themselves through words, art and music. Nowadays, the pressure that children and adults
receive can cause them difficult mental issues and breakdowns, so the creative expression of
feelings can offer a lot more than joy in humanity.
