The Rainbow Fish.

The Rainbow Fish is an award-winning book and turned the

story into an animated television series of the same name. The book is about a
beautiful fish who finds friendship and happiness when he learns to share. The book
is best known for its morals about the value of being an individual and for the
distinctive shiny foil scales of the Rainbow Fish, like many young children, has a
difficult time sharing.

The Rainbow Fish learns that being the most beautiful fish in the sea can be
lonely. Ultimately he learns that there is more to be gained by sharing his sharing his
most prized possessions than by keeping them all to himself that gives the book its

Finally, The Rainbow Fish provides an opportunity for students to think about
the nature of happiness and the good life, how happiness relates to sharing, beauty,
friendship, and feelings.
