Self-Reflection

I have learned that there are many different types of essays, and how there is also many

ways of going about writing the essays. I have also learned that more evidence and the more

research you do can help your essay in many ways and could make you a better writer in the long

run. The essay that I enjoyed writing the most was when we read a book of our choice, and then

wrote and essay about it. I found that reading the book helped me better understand what I was

writing about. In the end I have learn many new things about reading and writing this school

year.

I need to work on making my schoolwork my priority, and not allowing myself to get

distracted easily. If I do so I could not only write better essays, but also complete my work on

time, while doing good work. Also I need to choose a topic to write about that truly interests me,

because think if I do so it would only help my writing. For example my synthesis essay I have

been having a hard time writing because I didn’t really care about which one I choose, and now I

regret that, because I think If I did a topic that interested me I would have done a better job on it.

My favorite assignment this year are the book reflection writing assignment, because I

actually enjoyed reading a book, and then being able to reflect my feelings about the book, and
writing about it. I also enjoyed the doing the extra credit assignment which was the thank you

note. Mainly because I was able to write to one of my favorite teachers.

In the future I will take more time on my assignments, and not allow myself to get

distracted as easily. That way I can turn in my essays on time, and not have to worry about doing

them last minute. I will also take more time to get more information, and evidence to back up my

topic.
