1. How many islands do we have in the Philippines?

Our country, the Philippines have 7,107 islands.

2. What are the different places that you had visited in the Philippines?

I had visited only local cities here in Mindanao like North Cotabato,
Cagayan De Oro, Bukidnon, Baguio district where Malagos Garden Resort
and Chocolate Museum located, Tagum Resorts and beaches in Sta. Cruz in
Davao Del Sur and different parks and museums here in Davao city.

3. Do you know who our ancestors are?

Yes, I know that our ancestors are Malay descent and came from the
Southeast Asian mainland as well as from what is now Indonesia.

1. When you hear the word “Ethnic Groups”, what do you have in your mind?

When I hear the term "Ethnic Groups," I think of a group of individuals


or a community that have a shared cultural heritage or ancestry that is distinct
from other cultures and living on the mountains who are behind from
modernization.

2. Why lowland and highland ethnic groups arise? What does it mean?

Highland and lowland ethnic groups exist because, prior to the arrival
of Spanish colonialism, these people were independent communities or
villages of tribes or clans able to protect their territories and deflecting the
colonizers, preserving their relative independence while continuing to practice
their own systems and ways of life.

3. What comes first into your mind when you hear the word “Rice terraces”?

The first thought that leaps to my mind is a thousand of staircase-like


rice paddies that were claimed to be constructed thousands of years ago by
ancestors of Ifugao and one of the great contributions of the Philippines'
ancestors to humanity.

4. Rice terraces represent what?

Rice terraces represent the harmony that prevails between man and
nature. It is a holy tradition with harvest rituals and cultural practices that have
been passed down from generation to generation.

high degree of creativity?

Ethnic groups of the Philippines (IP group) exhibited their high degree
of creativity in order to share and preserve their culture for future generations.
It is also their way to recognize within the society.

2. How does Tribal groups of the Philippines become known to the society?

Tribal groups in the Philippines are well-known in society due to their


diverse social organization, cultural expression, and high level of creativity,
which is typically used to beautify essential goods such as bowls, baskets,
clothes, weapons, and spoons.
3. Who are the tribal groups who build the Rice Terraces?

The tribal groups that build the Rice Terraces are the ancestors of
Igorot People who are living into the mountains of Banaue, Ifugao here in the
Philippines.
