TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF CROSSOVERS

Section A :- Special Condition Contract And Technical Specification:

1. The requirement has been kept in a single group and details are given in the Section-B
(Specification and Quantity).
2. Bidders quote shall cover the complete scope of supply. Bidder shall quote for items in the same
sequence as it appears in the tender document.
3. The requirement is for PEL/ ML area.
4. The material and fabrication of all cross overs shall conform to API standard wherever
applicable.
5. All the Cross Overs should be new, unused and of recent manufacture.
6. The Box end of all the Cross Overs shall be specially bevelled as per API-5CT as applicable. All
cross overs shall be without inside coating and antirust coating shall be provided on outside.
7. SERVICE CONDITIONS: Above items are required for Sour service application in offshore
Oil/Gas wells, for 5,000 PSI differential pressure and 325 deg F working temperature. The
storage of these items to be in tropical conditions.
8. METALLURGY:
The material and fabrication for X-Overs shall conform to Grade L-80 Type-I as per API -5CT
as applicable (Suitable for Sour Service).
9. DESIGN & FABRICATION:
i. Pipe shall be seamless. X-Overs shall be supplied in single piece. No welding to be carried out.
ii. Transition of ID shall be smooth enough and designed for easy entry and passage of Wire- line
tools.
iii. OD to be chamfered in accordance with the respective size and type of thread of Tubing.
Transition in OD (if any) should be bevelled/chamfered, suitably designed for proper handling
& tripping operations.
iv. Box ends of X-overs shall be specially beveled at angle of 45 degree approx.
v. Mechanical strength should not be less than the respective tubing corresponding to lower size
end of X-over (if applicable).
vi. Maximum OD of X-overs shall be not more than OD of coupling of respective Tubing
corresponding to higher size end of X-over (if applicable). Tolerances shall be allowable as per
applicable standards/guideline
vii. Minimum ID of X-overs shall be not less than ID of respective Tubing corresponding to lower
size end of X-over (if applicable). Tolerances shall be allowable as per applicable
standards/guideline.
10. REQUIREMENT FOR PREMIUM THREAD:
Bidder should indicate the name of the Premium thread cutting agency and submit the copy of
valid license in the name of thread cutting agency issued by the owner of “VA SUPERIOR”,
“FOX” and “VAMTOP” connection along with the techno-commercial bid.

11. MARKING AND COATING:


i. The marking and coating shall be in accordance with API-5CT against corrosion in a marine
environment.
ii. All threads are to be treated for anti-galling (as per manufacturer recommended) to avoid damage
to threads during frequent make-up/break-up.
iii. All X-overs shall be permanently engraved /marked with size and name of thread at both the ends.
12. PACKING INSTRUCTION:
i. All threaded ends to be coated with suitable API Grade thread compound and provide
Drilltech’s “STP-CE” or equivalent protectors.
ii. Cross Overs to be suitably crated in wooden boxes to avoid damage in transit.
13. The supporting technical literature/drawing must be submitted with the offer for technical
evaluation. The specifications mentioned in the quote should conform to the details indicated in
the literature/drawing. Offer without supporting literature/drawing will not be considered.

14. Bidder to note that general conditions form a part of technical specification.
15.Warranty:Manufacturer shall provide warranty against any workmanship/
manufacturing/fabrication/ threading defect for a period of 6 months from the date of delivery of
material at PTYS Nhava Supply Base.

16. Inspection:

i) The inspection of cross over should be carried out by ONGC or any other agency nominated
by ONGC as per the tender Scope of Inspection and inspection report shall be furnished at
the time of delivery.
ii) The bidder should provide detailed Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) from the quoted
manufacturing plant along with the bid. The QAP should cover all the inspection required
under Scope of Work (SOW) for inspection and tender specifications.
iii) After NOA, bidder shall submit to ONGC the production schedule and readiness for
inspection at least 45 days in advance, so that ONGC can deploy the inspection agency to
carry out inspection at manufacturer’s premises.
iv) Bidder to note that Third Party Inspection (TPI) by ONGC or any other agency nominated
by ONGC for the quoted items shall be carried out at one manufacturer’s premises. If bidder
intends Third Party Inspection (TPI) by ONGC or any other agency nominated by ONGC at
multiple manufacturer’s premises, such cost of TPI at more than one manufacturer’s premises
shall be deducted from the invoices.

17. Supplier should provide necessary documents such as invoice(s) at least three weeks prior to the
scheduled delivery due date to obtain EC from DGH failing which delay in issuance of EC, if any,
and any additional financial implications because of this, will be on the part of supplier.
18. Prior approval of drawing for each type of crossovers before manufacturing should be obtained
from ONGC.
