August Newsletter Uniontown Music Dept.

Meet. Ms. Egidy!

My name is Ms. Morgan Egidy. I would like to welcome you all to the
2022-2023 School Year. I will be teaching 6-12 Band, High School Choir,
and the Piano/Guitar class here at Uniontown High School. I am really
Contact excited to be teaching here this year and I am looking forward to a
great year. First, I want to tell you a little about myself, then what you
Uniontown High School can expect from me this year.
Instrumental/Vocal I am originally from Greeley, Kansas. I went to
Teacher High School at Anderson County. I grew up on
a farm and was very active in my school.
Ms. Morgan Egidy Outside of school I was very involved with 4-H.
megidy@uniontown235.org In 2015, I was chosen to participate in the
Kansas Ambassadors of Music trip to Europe. I
traveled to seven countries performing in this
concert band.

I attended Kansas State University to study

Saxophone and Clarinet while earning my
degree in Music Education and graduated in
May, 2021.

During my time at Kansas State University, I stayed very active with

organizations and extracurricular activities. I was a member of the
Kansas State University Marching Band, K-State Cat Band, Sigma Alpha
Iota, and was a Band Ambassador. In the spring of 2020, I was selected
to teach and conduct the Kansas State University. In January of 2021, I
had the opportunity to student teach at Sheridan Elementary in
Junction City, Kansas and Junction City High School in March of 2021.

I have had many teaching experiences outside of my time at Kansas

State University including all levels of instrumental private lessons,
acoustic guitar lessons, judging 4-H Cub days music events, and
providing clinics and master classes to other high school bands.

I have recently taught for one year at Council Grove Jr./Sr High School
where I taught 6-12 Band and Vocal, as well as directed the High School
Music before deciding to move closer to home.

What to expect
During the first week of school, you can expect to receive a handbook
for the class in which your student is taking. In it will contain
important information regarding dates of performances, grading policy,
expectations, and any forms that may need signed. I will be sending
home a newsletter like this one monthly, to keep you informed of what
is going on in the music program. This will show case students and their
achievements and provide any important information such as upcoming
dates and activities. You can expect that prior to any event or
performance I will send home an letter including important information
and expectations well in advance. I am always available to answer and
address any questions or concerns you or your student may have so
please do not ever hesitate to reach out to me.
