Due to the growing environmental damage perceived in recent years, environmentally

sustainable models have been applied in all areas of the industry, and it is assumed that the

field of business logistics was not going to be left behind; The term green logistics has been

implemented, which aims to minimize the environmental consequences of logistics and

merchandise transport, involving actions such as the use of less polluting transport, recycling,

waste disposal, among others.

On the other hand, governments have also been important actors in the promotion and

imposition of policies that lead the industry to cleaner production in all areas and that can

have a differential impact on freight and passenger traffic.

In the article "Green Logistics (The Paradoxes of)" an apparently pessimistic vision is

glimpsed because the actions taken did not give the expected results in terms of costs, times

and reliability, this does not mean that other important benefits cannot be achieved. as a good

company image, it gives added value to the brand and, of course, a significant reduction in

environmental damage, which leads to a better quality of life for all consumers. In addition,

the implementation of green logistics opens up other potential products and markets, such as

products designed with all their recyclable or reusable parts, markets for second-hand

products, courier markets through technological tools such as drones, etc.

In conclusion, although the panorama looks a bit discouraging, green logistics brings

worthwhile benefits, in addition to the fact that in the future sustainability will be
fundamental in the industry and environmental regulatory policies will inevitably have to be

complied with.
