Nerve review

‘Nerve’ is the title of the fictional game in the movie wherein who wants to be part of it can
choose whether to be a watcher or a player . A watcher watches the player doing dares
which the players must accomplish. The watchers also dictate the dares in the game. It is a
great film to watch as it intends to raise awareness about the disturbing behavior of most
social media users.

It has good performances from its two leads and a unique visual style, and it certainly has
its fair share of entertainment. However, though it might not be fair, the trailer absolutely
ruined my experience by giving away the vast majority of the plot. Even besides that, there
are issues in the film's storytelling, and whenever the movie tries to be taken seriously, it falls
flat on its face.

The only way to really beat a game is not to play, otherwise the game is the only thing that
wins: the film argues that stepping outside the game is what takes real nerve. Nerve, for all
its faults, is a timely reminder of the perils of social conformity in an increasingly online
world.
