A Future proof civil service - Nasrul

What do we as future public servants need to know about the term “a future proof civil service”?

- Technological developments and ways of working such as artificial intelligence internet of


things and big data changing the world as we know it and public servants, especially in
Malaysia are at risk of falling behind.
- Innovation and digital skills are fast becoming essential to align with the IR 4.0
- We can see how Covid-19 has changed our ways of working and what that means for how
we’ll operate from now on.
- Hence, there are several things that we as PTD cadets need to do to become a modern Civil
Service
- Firstly, we have to develop ourselves into the digital skillset and improve the quality of online
services by attending any multimedia or digital training to learn as much as we can before
entering into service later on.
- Next, involve ourselves in any technical and multimedia committee programs throughout this
DPA so that we can try to continually learn from the experts among us and will be able to
adapt ourselves to the digital working environment.
- As a conclusion, we need to be able to understand our current approach which is about
digital technology and multimedia. Transforming ourselves to become flexible and
knowledgable civil servants to provide an excellent services to our nation.
