According to the Pew survey conducted in 2014 and 2015, 94% of teens who go online
using a mobile device do so daily. The surveys suggest that teenagers regularly visit social
media as part of their daily routine, whether to communicate with others or to explore
themselves. Social media helps us by improving communication with peers and learning how
to communicate with others. Social media may also have a negative impact on teenagers,
causing them to become depressed, attempt suicide, and so on. Studies show that people who
spend a significant amount of time on social media experience increased anxiety and
decreased self-esteem.
Although it is argued that social media can be beneficial for a teenager's social life and
communication skills, it can also lead to negative effects. That's why parents should limit
their children's access to social media.
