2. Attach the black plastic actuator platform to the new chilled water valve with
the two screws.
3. Replace the valve actuator and bracket. Make sure that the “T” indicator on
the valve shaft is in the same orientation as the “T” on the valve itself. Tighten
the set screw to 6.7 N·m (60 in·lb) of torque.
4. Rotate the 3-way valve actuator back to the full cool position.
5. Slightly open the top and bottom coil vent valves.
6. To pressurize the piping, open the return water valve at the Cooling
Distribution Unit (CDU) or in the external piping, depending on your
configuration.
7. Air begins to flow from the coil vents. Close the bottom coil vent when you see
a small stream of water. Continue to bleed the air from the top coil vent until
you see a small stream of water there as well, then tighten and close the vent.
8. Once all air has left the system and the vents are closed tightly, open the
water supply to the unit (either at the CDU or in your external piping), return
the 3-way valve to full-bypass, and open the internal bypass and supply
valves.
9. Check the chilled water valve piping for leaks.
10. Replace any insulation removed earlier.
11. Verify proper operation.

Overview
Use a USB drive to transfer and upgrade the firmware files. The following provides
an overview of steps required to update the firmware:
1. Check the USB drive format.
2. Create a firmware folder on the USB drive.
3. Download the firmware package and extract those files to the firmware folder.
4. Create an .rcf file for file transfer and place that file in the firmware folder.
5. Insert a USB drive in the USB-A port.
6. Reset the display.
7. Wait until transfer is complete and remove the drive.
Updating Procedure
1. Insert the USB drive into an available port on the PC and verify that the file
system is formatted as FAT32. If the drive is not formatted, the USB drive
must be formatted prior before continuing.
38 990-5190A
Updating the Firmware ACRC301H
3. Obtain the firmware files from the local support team or service website.
Unzip and extract the firmware files to the “apcfirm” folder. Typically there are
three .bin files for the application:
• (_acrc2g_)
• operating system (_aos_)
• boot monitor (_bootmon_)
4. Use a text editor, for example Notepad, to create a file named upload.rcf.
990-5190A 39
ACRC301H Updating the Firmware
5. Edit the file upload.rcf and write a text string for each firmware module that
you want to transfer. For example, to transfer the files shown in Step 3 type
the following exactly as shown below:
IMPORTANT: The firmware modules must be listed in the proper order in
the upload.rcf file.
• BM (bootmon) must be listed first.
• AOS (operating system) must be listed second.
• APP (application) must be listed third.
6. Save the upload.rcf file in the “apcfirm” folder on the USB flash drive. The
“apcfirm” folder should look similar to the following example:
7. Insert the USB drive into the display USB-A port. The display will detect that a
USB device has been connected.
8. Once acknowledged, press the Display Reset button. Wait approximately 2 -
3 minutes for the display to resume operation.
9. Return to the HOME screen menu.
NOTE: The touch screen will be disabled during the transfer process.
There is no loss of cooling operation during the transfer process.
10. Once the transfer is complete, remove the USB drive from the display. To
perform the transfer on additional cooling units, insert the device in the USB-A
port and repeat Step 7.

Generating Service Passcodes ACRC301H
3. Enter the Product Key in the box using upper case letters.
4. Click Generate. The service code generates.
5. Enter the service code exactly as shown on the cooling unit display interface.
