As a country of over 3000 years of history, Ethiopia has come a long way.

One thing that could be said

about the people of this country is that it is full of vibrantly diverse individuals who are willing to come
together and build a more prosperous union. However, over the past year, this East African nation, of
over 115 million inhabitants, has experienced some of its worst days that have ultimately tested its
resolve and very existence.

Ethiopia has been in a constant state of no war and no peace where the way of life of countless citizens
is threatened. But this is not only true for the war front and the battlefield, but also is evident in the
campaign of disinformation that is aimed at smearing and slandering the works of honest people and
institutions. One of the tools used by Ethiopia’s enemies at this very moment is unsubstantiated
allegations and fake news which are used to derail progress and development.

We bring this up because our university has recently been a victim of such attacks aimed at raising doubt
about its integrity and credibility. The current struggle that our country faces has affected the military,
ordinary citizens' lives, and even educational institutions. As a research institution, we are constantly
engaged in serving the country through problem-solving initiatives. In addition to this, the University
seeks to further the aims of the society by catering to all Ethiopians irrespective of their gender, race,
religion, and location. We pride ourselves on being outside the realm of politics.
