Reproduction: The process by which the organism produces their offspring is called

reproduction.
There are two types of reproduction:
1. Sexual reproduction
2. Asexual reproduction

1. Sexual reproduction: Sexual reproduction is the fusion of male and

female nuclei to form a zygote. Zygotes develop into offspring genetically
different from each other, and from their parents.

2. Asexual reproduction: The process resulting in the production of genetically

identical offspring from one parent is called asexual reproduction.

Write down differences between asexual and sexual reproduction?

Answer:
1. No gametes are produced in asexual reproduction whereas gametes are
produced in sexual reproduction.
2. No variations are produced in asexual reproduction whereas variations are
produced in sexual reproduction.
3. Asexual reproduction is the faster mode of reproduction whereas sexual
reproduction is the slower mode of reproduction.
4. Asexual reproduction involves only a single parent whereas sexual
reproduction involves two parents.
5. Asexual reproduction occurs only by mitosis whereas sexual reproduction
