Ⅰ 民間団体等奨学金について
私費外国人留学生が申請することができる民間財団からの奨学金（民間団体等奨学金）は２
種類あり、それぞれ申請の手続方法が違います。

A 大学推薦の必要な奨学金
 大学から財団等へ推薦が必要であり、学内で選考を行う奨学金のことです。春と秋の年２回
（4 月と 9 月）に「奨学金登録申請」受付けます。
この登録申請を行わないと、大学は推薦を行いません。

B 大学推薦のいらない奨学金
 大学からの推薦を必要としない奨学金のことです。奨学財団の応募条件にあっていれば、誰
でも個々の奨学金に申請することができます。
  多くのものは、大学で申請書類を取りまとめて、大学から財団へ送付をします。

※ どちらの民間財団奨学金についても、大学宛てに募集情報があり次第、留学生掲示板での掲示等
を通して案内します。
  掲示をよくチェックし、機会を見逃さないようにしてください。

Ⅰ TYPES of SCHOLARSHIPS for Privately Financed Students

 To those privately financed students at Nagaoka University of Technology, available
scholarships can be divided into 2 types.

A Scholarships REQUIRING the University Nomination

This type of scholarships is those that require the University to make its own careful
selection of candidates.
Registration for this scholarship selection is offered twice a year (in April and in
September).
Without this registration, there is absolutely no chance for any scholarships in this
category.

B Scholarships NOT Needing the University Nomination

For this kind of scholarships, anyone who satisfy the requirements of each offer is
welcomed to apply.
Some of the scholar foundations ask each applicant to send a complete documents directly;
however, most of them request applications via Kokusai-ka, to be sent all together.

※ Whichever scholarship type, all scholarship announcements presented to the

University will be posted on the bulletin boards for international students.

Ⅱ 民間団体等奨学金の申請方法について

A  大学推薦のある奨学金の申請方法
 日本の奨学金は、４月に支給が開始され、翌年の３月まで支給が続くものがほとんどです。一方、奨学
財団からの応募は前年の１０月頃からはじまります。よって、奨学金を受給したいと考える人は、年２回
行われる「民間団体等奨学金登録申請」をしていないと、大学推薦のある奨学金を受給する機会を逃
してしまうことになります。
 「民間団体等奨学金登録申請」は、年に２回、４月と９月に募集しています。４月分は３月頃、９月分は８
月頃に募集の掲示を行いますので、掲示をよく見て、所定の申請期間内に登録申請を行ってください。
 推薦者の決定は、Ⅴの選考基準に基づいて行います。申請する皆さんは、受給を希望する奨学金を
指定することはできません。
 推薦が決定した人は、電話等で連絡しますので、申請書類を国際課から受け取り、所定の期日までに
必ず提出してください。所定の期日まで提出できない場合は、推薦できない場合もありますので、注意し
てください。推薦を辞退する場合やどうしても書類を提出できない場合は速やかに連絡してください。
 なお、登録申請を行っても必ず奨学金に推薦されるとは限りません。
連絡がない方は、今回は残念ながら推薦対象外となります。推薦の可否についての問い合わせには
回答いたしませんので、ご了承ください。

B 大学推薦のない奨学金の申請方法
大学推薦の必要がない奨学金については、奨学財団から国際課に情報が来ればその都度、留学生
掲示板に掲示、メール等で案内しますので、内容を確認の上、募集要項・申請用紙を国際課に受け取
りに来てください。この場合、書類は国際課で取りまとめて財団に申請しますので、所定の期日までに必
ず申請書類を提出してください。
財団の中には大学で取りまとめできないものもありますので、その場合は自分で直接財団に申請書を
送付してください。ただし、その場合は指導教員または国際課に書類の内容をチェックしてもらうのが良
いでしょう。本学で申請書類を取りまとめない奨学金に応募した人は、応募したこととその結果を必ず
国際課に教えてください。

＊その他
大学推薦のあるもの、ないものを問わず申請書類は、ていねいに記入してください。字の上手、下手は
関係ありません。特に大学推薦をするものについては、書類の内容によっては、書き直しをしてもらう場
合もありますし、推薦できない場合もありますので、注意してください。書類の記入について不明な点が
あれば国際課に質問してください。
奨学金書類の多くは、日本語で記入しなければいけませんし、団体によっては面接試験を課す場合も
ありますので、ある程度の日本語能力が必要です。
 本学に推薦依頼のある奨学金及び本学学生が受給中の奨学金については、Ⅳに掲載されています。
また、奨学金の詳しい情報については、下記のところが発行している「日本留学奨学金パンフレット」
（WEBページでも公開）にもあります。そこに掲載されていないものでも、応募できるものがあれば、積極
的に応募してください。

Ⅱ WAYS of The SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

A  For Scholarships REQUIRING the UNIVERSITY NOMINATION

 The registration for the university nomination takes place twice a year, in early April and in
September. If You wish for a chance for scholarship, complete your registration at
Kokusai-ka both times. Announcements will be posted in late March for April registration
and in late August for September's.
The nominees for each scholarship are selected among all the registrants based on the
CRITERIA for Selection of Scholarship Candidates, in sectionⅤ.
Please be aware that:
① NOT every registrants are to be nominated for some scholarship.
② This system does NOT allow you to choose and specify a preferred scholarship.
③ Being nominated by the University does not mean a promise to be approved by the
scholar foundation.
When you are fortunately nominated by the University for a scholarship, Kokusai-ka will
contact you and provide descriptions of application procedure and its application form.
Please contact Kokusai-ka if you have any question on completing the documents or if you
do wish to decline to apply for the nominated scholarship for some reasons.
Unfortunately, those who did not get nominated will not receive any notice from Kokusai-
ka.Please understand that we cannot answer your inquiries regarding your nomination
status.

B For Scholarships NOT Needing the UNIVERSITY NOMINATION

Each time we receive scholarship announcements from foundations, it will be posted on the
bulletin boards for international students. Please carefully examine the requirements and
qualifications; descriptions of application procedure and application forms can be handed to
you at Kokusai-ka.
Usually completed applications documents are to be collected at Kokusai-ka; however,
some scholar foundations require the applicants to send the documents directly. In this case,
you may want to have your completed documents checked by your academic advisor/
Kokusai-ka.
Please remember to inform us of your application and eventually its result as well.

＊Others
 When completing application documents, you ought to perfect it thoroughly.
 Many foundations expect applicants to have Japanese language ability; some foundations
require applicants with high skills in the language. Please note that registrants with less
Japanese language ability may have less chance to be nominated.
The largest list of scholarships offered for students in Japan is formed by the following
organization. Their annually publicized pamphlet “Scholarships for International Students
in Japan” is to be shared on their WEB page. If you find scholarships you think you qualify
for, going for it is recommended!

 私費外国人留学生の奨学金申請にあたって、各奨学財団への推薦者を学内で選考が必要な場合は、下記により推
薦者及び推薦順位を決定し、申請するものとする。

第１ 推薦者及び推薦順位の決定方法
 第２の推薦基準で算出した合計点により順位を決定し、その結果を基に国際交流委員会において推薦者及び推
薦順位を決定する。

第２ 推薦基準
 次の項目を点数化し合計点により順位を決定する。
 合計点が同点の場合、身分点の高い者を優先とする。また、合計点が同点でなおかつ身分点が同点の場
合、年齢の高い者を上位とし、なお同点の場合は成績の上位者を上位に置く。

 V CRITERIA for SELECTION of SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES
at Nagaoka University of Technology

Scholarship Nominees are to be determined by the following considerations 1, 2 and 3.

1. Ranking and Selection Process of Nominees
All the registrants of Scholarship Application are to be ranked according to their total score gained by point-
rating evaluation below. On the basis of the ranking, International Student Committee selects the high-scored
students as nominees for eligible scholarships.

2. Selection Criteria
The following considerations shall be rated by point. If a registrant has the same score in total as another, the
