Multiple air/fluid levels on erect film

Dilated loops of bowel with air-fluid levels at different levels is compatible with a small bowel
obstruction. "String of pearls" sign is present in the lower abdomen.
supine (A) reveal dilated small bowel loops and erect (B) showing significant air fluid levels with absent
gas shadow in the rectum.
Simple abdomen erect and supine views show severe small bowel dilatation, suggesting small bowel
obstruction.
