FIREPROOFING ZONES Areas where fire hazards exist (because of the potential presence of combustibles) will be identified on a plot plan by the Engineer. These areas, called "Fire-Exposed Envelopes" (FES), contain the surfaces that must then be considered for fireproofing application. 4, EXTENT OF FIREPROOFING Detailing the extent of fireproofing on the particuler surfaces within a given FE will chiefly be the task of the discipline commissioned to requisition those surfaces for the project. The extent of fireproofing for surfaces within a particular FE will be indicated on project structural steel drawings, equipment drawings and project lists. Fireproofing requirements for structures, equipment, valves, electrical, and instrument items are noted in Project Specification P41-10-6455, 5.
