If recent history has proven anything, it's that a natural disaster can happen at

any time. When it does happen, it’s beyond our control and usually results in a lot of lost
lives. However, we can prevent these disasters by being prepared. In other words,
whenever a calamitous situation arises that may disturb life and the ecosystem, we
need emergency measures to save and preserve lives. This is where disaster
management comes into play.

Disaster management refers to the efficient use of resources and responsibilities

that will help in lessening the impact of a disaster. It involves a well-organized plan of
action so we can make effective efforts to reduce the dangers to a minimum. Proper
disaster management can be done when the citizens are aware of the precautionary
measures to take when they face emergency situations. For instance, everyone must
know where the nearest evacuation shelter to their home is whenever there's a volcanic
eruption. If everyone learns the basic ways to save themselves and the government
takes more responsive measures, we can surely save a lot of life and vegetation.
