IMO, it depends whether he is working for a cloud service provider or consuming service from a cloud

provider.

For an architect who works for a CSP:

In a typical day he drives high priority customer initiatives on their cloud offering. He regularly answers in
meetings that is accountable for the end-to-end customer cloud deployment experience. Takes part in
architectural design sessions, specific implementation projects and Proofs of Concepts.

For an architect in a firm which consumes from a CSP:

Typical day - Evaluates, prototype, and selects infrastructure hardware and software components from
service providers. Reviews deployments to confirm architecture alignment and provide feedback to the
internal teams. Builds architecture and implement processes to standardize cloud operating practices
and procedures, capacity planning and risk mitigation. Regularly collaborates with Technical Operations
and DBA teams to assess future growth and capacity requirements.
