Standard Conditions

1. SCOPE
1.1 This method defines the term “standard conditions” used throughout this standard.

2. DEFINITION
2.1 Standard conditions are average conditioning temperature 23º +/- 1ºC (22ºC to 24ºC) and
average relative humidity of 50+/- 2% (48% to 52%) with total permitted variability of 23º +/- 2ºC
(21ºC to 25ºC) for temperature and of 50+/-5% (45% to 55%) for relative humidity.

2.2 Unless otherwise specified in the test method, all tests shall be conducted in the conditioned
chamber or room at standard conditions.

For further information on testing conditions refer to ASTM D 685 Standard Method for
Conditioning Paper and Paper Products for Testing and ASTM D 1000 Standard Method - Pressure
Sensitive Adhesive Coated Tapes used for electrical insulation.
