As you will know this is the only way to check for leakages and its absolutely necessary that the purging is, carried out as described in the instruction book. By purging as instructed you will at once discover if there is any leakages in the pump, and you are able to determine i itis cargo or hydraulic oll - or both | and itt isa static or dynamic leak. The result will tell you what action that is necessary to take ~ and such action must be taken at once on board the ship. As an extra precaution we do recommend that the purging routine forms are filed in and sent to us. We will, as a free service, go through these and give written comments. awe (On older FRAMO cargo pumps there is a combined purging and stripping valve. On newer pumps we have supplied two completely separate valves. We have now also developed a modified valve, with complete segregation between cargo and cofferdam, which can be installed on older pumps, where the combined valve originally is used. We are pleased to present the new upgraded FRAMO stripping and purging valves for the FRAMO cargo pump, our drg. no. 264-363-2 and 293-51 4-2. This modification is carried out according to the latest FRAMO design on new hyar. systems and class requirements.
