Introduction

In recent times encountering wildlife has become a popular trend among young and adults. The desire
to spend time outdoor might come from the fact that we have been forced to stay at home for almost
two years. Regardless of the reason, it is a fact that people tend to be increasingly willing to be close to
nature.

My experience

From my side, I cannot subtract from this tendency, and I must say that being close to nature is a
fulfilling experience. For example, I like to go hiking in nature to get the chance to enjoy the beautiful
views it can offer. One of the best experiences I had, regarded* the ascent to the top of one of the
highest mountains in Abruzzo. It happened almost a year ago and taught me a lot about being grateful
even for the little things in life. It was not a planned route, and I did not have the proper equipment,
starting from my shoes. Their inappropriateness led me to take them off and I walked bared foot, which
made me feel in close contact with nature. Moreover, the weather was foggy, and I could barely see
what was going on around me. Anyway, this drawback did not prevent me from relishing the experience
to the full. In contrast, it came as a surprise to me how I was able to detect different natural scents
instead.

Conclusions

In conclusion, no matter if you go for a quick walk somewhere a stone's stroll from your house, go hiking
in the 'Black Forest', stroll around a river's banks, or relax on a desert beach, everything counts for
escaping the ordinary. I believe that one of the main roles that nature plays in people's life consists of
allowing them to relax and learn valuable life lessons from it.
