Energy and exergetic modeling analyses of a combined

solar-biomass-ORC co-generation systems

Abstract

This paper performs a combination of solar biomass for an ORC power system suitable for
desalination and water treatment that can be used in the rural areas of developing countries.
For this, a prototype is developed at the Green Energy Park research platform located in
Benguerir city and its performances are tested. In addition, the power plant is modeled using
the TRNSYS software and its performance is validated under real operating conditions. The
simulated system is a hybrid power plant that combines a compound parabolic collector’s
solar field, a biomass boiler, and an ORC engine (R245fa).
