Constructivism is the theory that says learners construct knowledge
rather than just passively take in information.
Bruner believed that the most effective way to develop a coding system
is to discover it rather than being told by the teacher. The concept of
discovery learning implies that students construct their own knowledge
for themselves (also known as a constructivist approach).
Explicit teaching involves directing student attention toward specific
learning in a highly structured environment. It is teaching that is focused
on producing specific learning outcomes. Topics and contents are broken
down into small parts and taught individually. It involves explanation,
demonstration and practice.
