1. SCOPE AND PURPOSE

1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define the list of piping lines and equipment which shall be
applied by Chemical cleaning and/ or Oil flushing in SVDN Project.

The Chemical cleaning & Oil flushing Line List is developed from project specification and
mainly used in conjunction with Chemical cleaning & Oil flushing procedure to manage/ monitor
all required piping lines and equipment are cleaned in a safety manner.
The Chemical cleaning & Oil flushing method, cleaning acceptance criteria and any special
preservation are included in Chemical cleaning & Oil flushing procedure which shall be consistent
with this document.

1.2 Scope of supply

Chemical cleaning and oil flushing for piping lines as per project requirement, are fabricated by
PTSC M&C, shall be performed by PTSC M&C or PTSC M&C’s subcontractor.
Chemical cleaning and oil flushing of internal Vendor’s packages and equipment are completed at
Vendor’s site. Just in case losing of preservation or contamination after package transportation,
they shall be repaired at PTSC M&C’s site.
Chemical cleaning and oil flushing shall be maximum completed at onshore. The HUC spools
which cannot be completed Chemical cleaning and(or) Oil flushing at onshore, or in case losing of
preservation or contamination after transportation, shall be repaired at offshore.

4. DEFINITIONS

Vendor A Vendor (Supplier/ Manufacturer) is the party, which manufactures

or supplies equipment/ materials and services to perform the duties
specified by the Contractor.

Chemical cleaning The special cleaning method is used to remove mill scale, dirt, greases
used as rust preventatives, and other foreign materials that could result
in operating and fabrication which often cause damage to
reciprocating and rotating equipment and corrosion due to the reaction
of scale with the process environment.
Oil Flushing The special cleaning method is used to clean Lubricating, seal and
control oil systems in lieu of water. Flushing oil shall be circulated
until the pipe work or equipment run clean.

5. PROJECT REQUIREMENT

Chemical cleaning and oil flushing requirement are referred to the document 05-1_EPC-GE-PTC-
L-SA-00001 Specification for Piping Fabrication which is applied for all critical piping are
fabricated by PTSC M&C.
Hydraulic control tubing cleanliness is referred to the document 05-1_EPC-SV-AEI-I-SA-00002
Specification - WHCP & Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) which is applied for all critical tubing
are fabricated by PTSC M&C.
The oil flushing for tubing which have connection with the piping system to be referred to Vendor
requirement.
Other than the requirements as mentioned in the above specifications, chemical cleaning/oil
flushing shall be applied if required by Vendor in order not affect to the performance of package.

6. CHEMICAL CLEANING
6.1 General information

The pickling for external piping surface and weld joints is not covered in this document.
In SVDN project, chemical cleaning is applied for following systems with battery limit as sections
below:
 Gas Compression system
 LP/MP Gas Compression system
 Seal gas system
 Lube oil system
As per document no. 05-1_EPC-GE-PTC-L-SA-00001 Specification for Piping Fabrication,
chemical cleaning is not applicable for Diesel System and Fuel Gas System. However, as subjected
to the specific vendor's requirement, the piping between Fuel Gas/Diesel Filter and Turbine shall
be applied the chemical cleaning.

6.2 Gas Compression System

The chemical cleaning process is required for piping lines from GTC suction scrubber to GTC.

Removable spools connected to GTC are performed chemical cleaning at onshore.

6.3 LP/MP Gas Compression System

The LP & MP Gas Compression is completed fabrication and FAT in package SVDN-CPP-M-
0017-Flash Gas Compressor by Vendor at their manufacture site.
Chemical cleaning shall not be re-applied at PTSC M&C yard, except any damage during
equipment transportation which effect to the chemical cleaning result of Vendor package.

6.4 Compressor Seal Gas System

Seal gas packages are included and shipped with the GTC packages. Chemical cleaning for seal
gas packages is conducted by Vendor at their manufacture site and not require to re-apply at PTSC
M&C yard.

6.5 Gas Turbine & Compressor Lube Oil System

Lube Oil systems of GTC and GTG are required to perform oil flushing only. However, to reduce
flushing duration, chemical cleaning is used to remove all scale, dirt, greases during fabrication,
then oil flushing are performed subsequently (only applied for associated pipes which are
fabricated at PTSC M&C Site). Ship loose equipment will not be chemically cleaned, only oil
flushing will be applied as section 7.2.

7. OIL FLUSHING REQUIREMENT

7.1 General Information

In SVDN project, Oil flushing is applied for following systems with battery limit as sections
below:
 Piping of GTC’s Lube oil system
 Piping of GTG’s Lube oil system
 Wellhead control system (hydraulic tubing)
 Jacket’s flooding control system (hydraulic tubing)
 Hydraulic system for Life boat and work boat davit’s winch

7.2 Compressor/turbine Lube Oil System

Lube oil system of GTC, GTG and LP & MP Gas Compressor packages are performed oil flushing
by Vendor at their manufacture site before conducting FAT and shall not be required to re-flush at
PTSC M&C site.
For package ship-loose items, only GTC and GTG’s Lube oil cooler shall be performed oil
flushing at PTSC M&C site, combined with interconnection piping which are fabricated by PTSC
M&C.

7.3 Wellhead Control System

at their manufacture site. Tubing distribution from WHCP to SCSSV, PWV, PMV of 05 wells
(well slot 05/06/10/11/12) are fabricated and flushed by PTSC M&C

7.4 Jacket Flooding Control System, Pile Grippers and Hydraulic Shackles (performed by SV
Jacket Fabrication Sub-Contractor)

Oil flushing will be applied to the following systems where required by vendor:
- Hydraulic tubing distribution in the flooding control system.
- Hydraulic line from control station to Skirt pile Gripper.
- Shackle hydraulic lines.
