Prepare a specimen approximately 130 mm diameter with a 6.5 mm center hole. b. Place the specimen on the rubber pad of the specimen holder then secure the specimen using the §4 mm OD clamp plate and clamping nut. c. Press the hold-down ring over the test specimen so that the material is drawn taut over the specimen holder with no wrinkles or bulges. Tighten the hold-down ring adjusting screw without causing the specimen to wrinkle or bulge. 4.22 Fiberboard, Rubber Floor Mats, Carpets, and Other Semi-Rigid Materials a. Prepare a specimen approximately 106 mm diameter with a 6.5 mm center hole. b. Place the test specimen on the rubber pad on the specimen holder, then secure using the 32 mm OD clamp plate and clamping nut. ©. When required, place the hold-down ring over the test specimen. Tighten the hold-down ring adjusting screw without ‘causing the specimen to wrinkle or bulge. 43 Lower the scuff fixture onto the test specimen. Scuff for the number of cycles indicated by the engineering specification. 5. REPORTING Observe and report scuff resistance by comparing the test specimen to an approved master scuff specimen established by the interested parties, or as required by the applicable engineering specification. Report any deviation from the procedure, 6.
