What is presupposition and Entailment? Give example from the factual phenomena. The answer must
be submitted by Saturday. You must put at least two references as the basis do answering the
questions.

Presupposition is something the speaker assumes to be the case prior to making an utterance. Speakers,
not sentences, have presupposition.

Entailment is something that logically follows from what is asserted in the utterance. Sentence, not
speakers, have entailments

Example

These funds have been corrupted

Presupposition : the government has committed corruption

Entailment : the funds have been corrupted by someone
