TOPIC: AUSCULTATION
AUSCULTATION :-
Auscultation is listening to the sounds of the
body during a physical examination by using
stethoscope.
Auscultation is listening to the internal
sounds of the body, usually using a
stethoscope.

INTRODUCTION:-
Auscultation is the term for listening to the
internal sounds of the body, usually using a
stethoscope. Auscultation is performed for
the purposes of examining the circulatory
system and respiratory system (heart
sounds and breath sounds), as well as the
gastrointestinal system (bowel sounds) etc.
MY INTEREST:-

I have interest in this topic and its

give me help as clinically and its very important
for diagnoses of variety of diseases. It differentiate
between normal and abnormal sound.
(cardicpathology, renalpathology,
pulmonarypathology etc)
APPLICATION OF AUSCULTATION IN
MEDICAL FIELD:

 The normal sound of heart is S1 and S2

which we can hear through Auscultation but if
there is abnormality in the heart. So abnormal
sound will be generated from the heart that is
Murmur, pericardial rup, bruits, pan systolic
murmur, pan diastolic murmur. So all these
sound are abnormal sound which can also be
applicable by hearing through Auscultation.
 In the lung normal sound are spreading all
over the lung in uniform level or same level.
But if there is some abnormality due to
infection or inflammation specific lobe or
segment of lung will be abnormal. So due to
infection or inflammation the sound of that
specific segment will be abnormal which we
can also hear through Auscultation.
 There is renal artery stenosis so the air flow
to the kidney will be abnormal and specific
special abnormal sound will produce that is
called renal bruits. So renal bruits can also be
hear through Auscultation.
 We can also hear normal and abnormal
sound through Auscultation in abdominal
region.
 Why is auscultation important? Auscultation
give us a basic idea about what's occurring
in your body.In our heart, lungs, and other
organs in your abdomen can all be tested
using auscultation and other similar methods.
We might need additional tests for a
diagnosis depending on the sounds we
hears.
Auscultation play very important role in
detection of abnormal body sounds. Normal heart
sounds are S1 and S2 vis auscultation we can pick
abnormal sounds like Murmur, Pericardial rub,pan
systolic murmur etc.
Auscultation is also helpful in finding
abnormalities in other body parts like kidney,
abdomen, chest etc.
In renal artery stenosis abnormal sound generated
that is renal bruits can be pick via auscultation.
Normally all cheat is having equal and proper
sound but due to any type of chest pathology
abnormal sounds will be there during respiration
which can only be able to pick through
auscultation.
It is also very important in abdominal diagnosis.
So auscultation is base for diagnosis of alot of
diseases including cardiac pathology, renal
pathology, pulmonary pathology, abdominal
pathology etc.
