The two maps show the progress which a town in UK – Felixstone witnessed over a period of 34

years between 1967 and 2001.

In general, what stands out from the graph is that Felixstone has experienced a significant
transformation to the tourist attraction place.

One interesting is that Felixstone used to be a developed city mainly in the fishing industry in 1967,
but in 2001 the fishing industry was removed completely by tourism industry. The outstanding
change is marina, pier had been knocked down and replaced by public beach in order to attract
tourist. Moreover, the travel services were established by the construction of private beach that
took over the place of fish market. Another striking change is that the hotel adjacent to dunes was
enlarged with parking lot to accommodate more cars.

If we look at the northeastern corner of the graph, there used to be farmland for agriculture in 1967,
but during the next 34 years this place was made into a resort with sport areas such as swimming
pool and tennis courts. Due to the development trend of city, the shops across from farmland were
demolished to make room for new apartments across from highstreet. A final interesting growth of
Felixstone is energy renewable exploitation with the erectness of wind turbines alongside the west
of seaside.
