IV year B.Sc. Nursing Administration & Educational objectives

General Objectives :-

At the end of practical, the students will be able to appreciate the modern
concept of administration and effectively apply this concept as nurse manager in given
nursing set up.

Specific objectives :-

1. Detect philosophy aims / objectives of nursing school / college & hospital.

2. Describe the organisation set up of nursing hospital/ Institute & ward.
3. Compare infrastructure of Govt. / private hospital / voluntary / corporation &
municipality with parent hospital as well as with standard laid by the council.
4. Detect recruitment, selection, placement & orientation techniques adopted by
various hospitals & Institutes.
5. Identify the nursing staff in pattern of nursing personnel in college & hospital
6. Describe available job descriptions for various categories of nursing personnel.
7. Recognise various staff appraisal methods adopted by the Institute / Hospitals.
8. Recognise budget proposals, procedures practised by the various Institutes, hospitals
9. Find the standards used for providing quality nursing care in hospitals / Institutions.
10. Recognise available staff welfare measures for various categories of health
personnel.
11. Find out various problems faced by the nurse administrators and adopted ways &
means to tackle future occurrences.
12. Identify various records & reports used by the Institutions.
13. Identify various committees functioning in the Institute / hospitals & their
allowances.
14. Recognise functioning of medical records department & comment your view on it.
15. Find out the methods adopted in ordering, supplying, maintaining & exchanging
articles & equipments in various Institutes as well as hospitals
