A. Solve for what is asked in the following. (30 points in all)

1. The height of a circular cylinder is 16 in and the diameter of the base is 3.5 ft. What is the
volume of the cylinder in cubic inches? (5 points)
2. The volume of a circular cylinder is 1005 cm 3 and the height is 15 cm. Find the length of
the radius of the base. (5 points)

3. A solid cubical block of copper, each edge is 5 cm, is melted and recast into a cylindrical rod
of diameter 5 cm. Find the height of the rod. (5 points)
4. The volume of the cylinder is 704cm3. If the height of the cylinder is 11 cm, what is the total
surface area of the cylinder? (5 points)

5. A circular cylinder with a radius of 10 in is


inscribed in a prism with equilateral triangular
bases. Find the volume of the portion of the prism
that is outside the cylinder if their common height is
50 inches? (10 points)
