Description MPX 3000 Analogue Card Update
IMPORTANT: Upgrade the Firmware to V3.23 or greater This Analogue Card will only work with Firmware
Version V3.23 or greater.

IMPORTANT: All work should take place on an anti-static work bench and operators should wear anti-
static wrist straps plugged into an anti-static Earth Point (Figure 1). Power MUST be disconnected from
the datalogger.

Undo the 6 screws on the MPX3000 front panel then drop the front panel down to reveal the Analogue
card(s) and CPU card as illustrated in the diagram in Figure 2.

Removing/Replacing an Analogue Card

The new Analogue Card is shown in Figure 3.

To remove an old Analogue Card, hold down the analogue card retention bar at the end of the guide rail
and pull the card away from the mating backboard connector, sliding the card along the guide rails to fully
withdraw the card from the slot.

When inserting a new Analogue Card, it is important to place it in the correct slot having set the ID (1, 2, 3
or 4) as indicated in Figure 4. Once the card has been inserted, replace the front panel.

Powering up the Datalogger

Switch the power for the Datalogger back on. The Datalogger will now scan for internal cards and external
modules. A number of screenshots will be seen in rapid succession as each channel is scanned. A
sample screenshot is shown in Figure 5.

Once the scanning process has been completed, the results can be checked by accessing the Network
Overview (Figure 6). This is accessed by selecting the ‘Engineering’ function on key 9 on the front keypad
and typing in the passcode 5502.

Select option 3 to obtain the network overview which displays the card ID, starting channel and number of
channels available (Figure 7).

To return to the main menu, press ‘ESC’ on the keypad.
