Hello class, today we are going to present the topic rainforests in specific the importance of

rainforests in our lives and why we should take care of them.

But why are rainforests so important? Rainforests help control

the weather and the overall planet temperature, they are the
world's richest and most productive ecosystems, containing half
of all living species on the planet. Rainforests absorve carbon
dioxide and release oxygen that we depend on for our survival.
Yet many of these rainforest are destroyed every year. If there is
something in the world so full of life and sheer beauty then why
do we continue to destroy what is already there?
So what can we do to solve this problem?
Firstly, we are going to show you some photos before and after the degradation of rainforests.

It is nothing that you haven’t seen before, but we thought it was a good idea to include these
shocking before and after pictures of forests all around the world.

These are terrifying pictures that show how human have ruined forests. The reason why our
forests look this way is because of certain attitudes that all of us, even unwillingly have in our
daily routines. Even if we aren’t directly cutting trees, we are contributing to the cause by
buying products from companies that all of us consume daily. Examples of that are the mc
donalds, they use too much unnecessary packaging and many of them are non-recyclable and
non-renewable. Starbucks uses more than 8,000 paper cups a minute, which adds up to more
than four billion a year. 1.6 million trees are harvested every year for all of those single-use
cups. Ikea uses rainforest wood. Kellongg’s uses palm oil that has a huge impact on forests.

Every single that we are losing plants, animal and insect species due to rainforest
deforestation.
