Case Study

Please use Tableau to build visualizations for the following task. Document your steps and state any
assumptions you make. A completed Tableau workbook and a Word/PDF document containing your
analysis would be ideal.

The data for this case study comes from about 30,478 Airbnb Listings in New York City that can be
found on Tableau’s public data repository. Here’s the link:

Your objective is to analyze the data, understand its dimensions and conduct Exploratory Data
Analysis. More importantly, the objective is to demonstrate how you would approach and analyze
data and how you’d represent your findings using a Tableau Dashboard. There are no right or wrong
answers. You are required to:

- Highlight the main KPIs that you think would be relevant to stakeholders
- Build visuals that depict the various cuts/slices you notice in the data
- Derive new measures and/or transform the data into the right measures that you think are
relevant for your analysis
- Plot charts that visualize any trends in the data
- Utilize the various features in Tableau to construct your story
- Present your analysis in an intuitive and concise manner
