Council Tax and Housing Benefits phone lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm
(except bank holidays).

Deaf people can text 07774 333 412.

BSL signed video interpretation service


If you have hearing difficulties you can contact Derby City Council using the sign language
service.

In person
The Council House is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Our Customer Service Centre (including self-service booths) is open from 9am to 3pm for the

Our Benefits and Council Tax advice services are available in the Council House by

Contact tracing

The Derby City COVID-19 Contact Tracing team may contact you by text or phone if the
NHS Test and Trace Scheme are unable to. These messages/calls are genuine, and will show
as being from:

 01332 956800 (telephone calls)


 DCCTracing (SMS/text notifications)

Deaf people can respond to contact tracing calls and SMS/text notifications using 07774 333
412.

You can also contact us using the sign language service.

Health advice

Help is available if you have any health concerns that require the advice or guidance of a
professional.

NHS 111 online can help you find the best place to go for help if you are unsure. If you do
not have internet access you can call 111 from a mobile or landline. The service is available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are deaf you can contact the NHS 111 BSL Interpreter
service or call 18001 111 from a textphone.

Community Support

Derby’s Community Hub can assist anyone in the community who is vulnerable, self-
isolating, or has been shielding. Those who need support can call Derby Direct on 01332
640000. Text service for the deaf community: 07774 333 412. This support is for our most
vulnerable residents (Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm).

Business advice/concerns

We can support businesses and community groups with:

 reopening and working safely during Coronavirus


 outbreak management if you have positive cases in your work place/organisation.

Member of the public can also report concerns about premises they do not think are following
the current government guidelines.

Streetpride

Contact Streetpride for all street-based services, bins and recycling, street lighting, fly-
tipping, dog fouling, litter, graffiti and pot holes.

Derby City Care Line – Social Care out-of-hours support


Derby City Care Line is the out-of-hours emergency social work service for people living in
or visiting Derby.

 People who are hard of hearing of deaf please send an email
to DCCcareLine@derby.gov.uk if you require Out of Hours Support.

It operates Monday to Friday 5pm–9am, with a 24-hour service during weekends and bank
holidays.
