Assignment 4 Gabe Gaw

The graphics used in the User Guide for the LCD Monitor SA220Q/SA230 are used to

show what is included to set up and use the monitor. More specifically, the first graphic (first

page) includes the package contents included with the monitor. The graphic includes pictures

everything included with the monitor and identifies what each thing is. The second graphic (first

page) is a picture that shows how to connect all the cables from the tower to the monitor. The

third graphic (second page) is a picture of the panel controls that corresponds to the table (second

page) above it. The graphic numbers each button on the monitor and the table above it identifies

the button and explains what it does using the corresponding number.

The first graphic is very effective in the User Guide. It’s purposeful for the user to be able

to identify what each thing included in the package is and clearly labels them. It is also accurate

with what is included in the package and is not cluttered, making it easy for the user to

understand. The second graphic is also very effective for the user to understand how to connect

all the cables with the towers. The graphic has every part labeled and has enough detail to be

easily able to determine which cable goes in what port. It also includes 4 little images of the

ports and labels them to make it even easier for the user to figure out how to set up. The third

graphic is important because it gives visual context for the table above it. While the table

indicates the icon, item, and description of each button, the graphic numbers the buttons in the

image and those numbers correspond with the numbering in the table. The graphic is easily

understandable for any user by using the table to identify the buttons and describe what each one

does and is placed appropriately on the same page as the table.
