NINTENDO SWITCH

$500

If you thought that Nintendo's new console, the Switch Lite, is just a
device smaller in size, capabilities, and price than the original, you are
wrong. Nintendo not only sought to make a cheaper console, the
Japanese firm also rethought what were the limitations, challenges and
disadvantages of mobile games to create a portable console as
important as the Game Boy was 30 years ago.

At first glance, it could be said that the Switch Lite is a Nintendo

Switch but without detachable Joy-Con (controls) and with a smaller
5.5-inch screen compared to the 6.5-inch of the first version. Indeed, it
is a single-piece console made entirely of plastic and with the same
arrangement of the buttons. Switch Lite is not intended to be that
console where you disassemble the controls and give one to your friend
and they start playing Mario Kart Deluxe or Smash Bros Ultimate, you
can play with friends as long as they have their own console.

Nor is it a console that you can connect via HDMI to your 65-inch TV
to play Zelda and play it in Full HD resolution. In the same way, it is
not made to play with all those weird game concepts that Nintendo
tends to invent like Nintendo Labo or Ring Fit Adventure in which you
use the Joy-Con to turn your console into a virtual reality helmet, a
steering wheel . . Or do squats or crunches to advance the game. No,
the Switch Lite will not allow you to have any of those social
experiences that Nintendo claimed to have created something like
Switch for.
