Top Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Solutions

Over 588,387 professionals have used PeerSpot research. Here are the top Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) vendors based on
product reviews, ratings, and comparisons. All reviews and ratings are from real users, validated by our triple authentication process.

Chart Key

Views Comparisons Reviews Words/Review Average Rating

Number of views Number of times compared Total number of reviews on Average words per review Average rating based on
to another product PeerSpot on PeerSpot reviews

Bar length
The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated as follows:

For each ranking factor of Reviews, Views, and Comparisons, the product with the highest count in each ranking factor gets a maximum 18
points. Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that ranking factor. For example, if a
product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product's points for reviews would be 18
* 80% = 14.4.

Both Rating and Words/Review are awarded on a fixed linear scale. For Rating, the maximum score is 28 points awarded linearly between 6-
10 (e.g. 6 or below=0 points; 7.5=10.5 points; 9.0=21 points; 10=28 points). For Words/Review, the maximum score is 18 points awarded
linearly between 0-900 words (e.g. 600 words = 12 points; 750 words = 15 points; 900 or more words = 18 points). If a product has fewer than
ten reviews, the point contribution for Rating and Words/Review is reduced: 1/3 reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews, two-thirds
reduction for products with fewer than five reviews.

Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

All products with 50+ points are designated as a Leader in their category.

Verification station is a really good feature. It allows part-owners to be able to take a look at what comes out of the tool after a
document, such as an invoice, is run through ABBYY. It also allows them to update it if there are any mistakes. So, it kind of
gives them a little more control over what goes through the system and lessens the errors. [Full Review]

The whole idea of designing your own templates is pretty much the bread and butter of the product, but that's really the best
part because you can design flexible templates. There is also the AI part. They have their machine learning models that are
pre-setup for invoices and things like that, which is also very handy. It is a really good feature. [Full Review]

The fact that IBM Datacap uses ABBYY's core engine for OCR, is quite useful for us. It makes them one of the key players as far
as OCR extraction is concerned. The fact that they've packaged it very well in the sense that you have these field extraction
batches which enable you to auto claim the documents, and you have these templates which are structurally laid out, which
reviewer159 enables you to mark a specific zone from which data can be extracted. It saves us a lot of manual work. The automation on

There are a lot of options in ABBYY FlexiCapture, and it is very vast. I have worked with multiple OCR tools, and I found ABBYY
FlexiCapture to be the most accurate tool. The key-value pair and relation were most valuable. Because the invoices were
coming from different vendors, it was possible that they would come in different formats. The idea was to capture data from all
Saamir formats. There were key-value pairs and nearest to the X coordinate or Y coordinate, and with a lot of hits and trials, I was able

They say that they have invoice training or document training where if you put in a certain number of documents of the same
type and you fix it once, twice, or a few times, it'll automatically be able to read the same document perfectly without you
having to create a layout for it to follow. That has never worked properly for any project, so I just stopped recommending it
AhmedSolim completely. We spent time trying to test and getting a bunch of invoices to test it with, and in the end, it just didn't do what it

There is always room for improvement in any product. Some of the configurations for the machine learning models for invoice
reading are fairly complicated. There is so much customization that is possible with that sort of thing, so it makes sense that
there are a lot of options, but some of the more important ones can be a little better streamlined or more upfront. Currently,
reviewer164 machine learning models are a little bit difficult to configure satisfactorily. There are a lot of solutions for different things, and

A lot of things could be improved, especially if you look at the number of support tickets that we have created. Looking at
those would indicate the things that can be improved. For example, more often than not, we are forced to rely on template
creation in order to bring the accuracy of extraction to 100%. Even though the training works, it's not as good as it is made out
reviewer159 to be. In our case, we've got thousands of suppliers and it is just not humanly possible for us to keep creating templates for

There are very few resources of knowledge. Whenever I got any doubt, I have to raise a ticket into their support forum. I can't
find anything in Google or on YouTube. There is no training material, so it was very hard to learn in the initial days. The
information about other tools is available on YouTube and other platforms, but ABBYY FlexiCapture is nowhere available to

Its price should be a little lower. It is a lot higher than the competition, and if they just break the gap a little, then more people
might jump onto their product. Their price is definitely a deterrent in the few cases that I remember. They have monthly and

It is more on the reasonable side as compared to the competition that I am aware of. I'm not an expert on pricing schemes for
all sorts of things, but when we offer them a solution, we like to say we're agnostic. So, we offer more than one solution when
possible. Amongst the ones that we've offered, ABBYY usually is the more reasonable solution on a big scale. On a small scale,

The document processing engine is good. We're extracting around 70 data points from a given document, and we have an
automated extraction rate of 80 percent for those fields. For some fields, the rate is 100 percent because they're clear. They're
always in the same spot and are very defined. Other information is only found in a few documents, and the automated

I really like the machine learning and tagging. They give a decent UI to allow even non-technical users to gather or tag the
data, then that goes into the back-end so we can use it to train the models. This is something I have not seen in another
solution or environment, and having that built-in, straight into the package, has definitely been a big help. Out-of-the-box, the
Shamus machine learning in the document processing engine needed some tweaking. A couple years ago, another engineer at the

A helpful feature is the analytics capability within WorkFusion. The analytics dashboards, i.e., their Tableau dashboards, are

I'm a non-technical person. I'm the business head. From what I've seen and been exposed to, Workfusion is very simple to use.
And in terms of the solution's flexibility towards evolving goals, it's highly flexible. During our PoC engagement, I have

future enhancements. [Full Review]

The most common issue we have is with the OCR, but that also depends on the quality of the documents your scanning. Still, I
would say the OCR is comparable to other solutions. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than other OCR engines. WorkFusion
entered the market early, and we see some newer providers that run on different technology in the background, so I'm not

We only have our engineering team writing code and developing business processes since it is very technical. In terms of data

It is difficult for non-technical users to use WorkFusion. If we really want to build automation, we definitely need Java

The price for WorkFusion is quite fair. It isn't the cheapest solution in the market, but it's very close. We had a bad experience

The pricing is high. They should have a better pricing structure. It was not easy for me to try out WorkFusion initially. For
example, if I am working on SAP, the licensing may be very expensive. Though, it is fine to use it at scale and pay for the
license. We have an enterprise license now, so we are not worried anymore. We are fine with it. As a first-time customer who

We have a good deal from WorkFusion. We have an unlimited global licensing deal with WorkFusion. For us, it is a no-worry

The extraction feature is the most valuable. Because the post-processing and the pre-processing are very standardized, even
from a classification point of view, things are fairly simple, as you still need somebody to feed the data. But, the place where I
found the IQ Bots to be a par change in comparison with the other solutions is on the Extraction piece, as it uses good and
VikasKapoor middle technologies to extract the specific data that we require from the documents. [Full Review]

I would say that the best feature is that it has native automation for the US. At the end of the day, you still have to do the same
amount of coding to actually pull that data into your code, but with the automation, you are sending it to part of the same

What is the difference between Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Intelligent Process
Automation (IPA)?

Hi,
What is the difference between RPA and IPA? What are examples and use cases of IPA?
Thanks.

Hi @Evgeny Belenky, Intelligent Process Automation is basically an upgraded form of robotic process automation. Unlike RPA,
intelligent process automation can understand context, learn, and iterate. IPA can also handle both unstructured and structured data
and supports some level of informed decision-making. Informed decision-making can further be divided into task level or process level
Shibu automation. IPA helps organizations to access and analyze unstructured data like images or text that is inaccessible by other means to
Babuchand
ran gain important insights. IPA can take unstructured data and turn it into structured data for use with RPA technologies. For reasons like
these, the technologies are not mutually exclusive but can work together to optimize business processes. So, while we may be a long
way off from robot servants that do our laundry and mow our lawns, robots are already and will continue to play increasingly important
roles in our daily...

Let me start by saying that it's just a catchy word, like many others in our industry. Depending on who you ask (there are some good
answers here already) you will get a different answer. I would summarize it as the concept of applying different AI and other data
science-related methods to enhance how you typically envision task and/or process optimization initiatives. From how you define and
Ricardo design your future process implementation, to how it will actually perform some of the tasks involved, or how your implementation
Pulido
adapts to changes over time. So it's a super broad spectrum, where different vendors will pull the concept to their area of expertise. I'll
try to summarize some real-world examples across that spectrum: - Automated/assisted current process discovery, benchmark and
diagnostics, to accelerate your process transformation efforts, and feed that into your process execution stack. - Process simulation /
digital twin simulation, to support strategic decision making...
