IDEAS FOR IELTS SPEAKING

STUDY
1. Are you a student or are you working?
I haven’t graduated yet because of a lack of IELTS certificate for my bachelor’s degree. But I’ve been
working as a position of ELT teacher. Admission to work here is incredibly cut-throat, so I take pride in
my job.

2. What are you studying?

Well, I’m majoring in English Language Teaching, so as you can guess that I have a whale of time
teaching young learners aging from 4 to 12 years old. It’s kinda overwhelming sometimes, but I would
say that I have a knack for language and educational psychology, so it’s okay.

3. What’s the most difficult part of your study?

Absolutely, classroom-based assessment. In other words, creating a test to evaluate students’ English
competence is the most challenging in my job. I’m always under pressure to create authentic listening
test and theorical knowledge to make a summative examination at the end of the course.

4. What’s do you like most about your school?

Well, I would say I have studied in one of the most modern universities with top-norch amenities with
the equipment of air-conditioners, projectors, and Apple computers. The headmaster always looks after
university students by giving some carreer workshops and field trips for real practical experience. It’s a
great place for me to study day in and day out.

Work
1. What do you like about your job?
For sure, it’s my salary. Not only does a lucrative income cover my bills, but it also allows me to treat
myself to splurge on a nice shirt. I have an affair with my job because it’s a very high prestige line of
work.

2. What do you dislike about your job?

As a teacher, I’ve got a very hectic schedule, which means I’m always up to my ears in deadlines of
scoring a test and planning a lesson activity. That’s why I have little quality time for my girlfriend and my
family.

3. What do you do after work?

Currently, because of IELTS preparation, I have been learning by myself to seek more materials useful for
my revision in collocations, word uses and grammar forexample. However, with a daily routine, I always
grab a couple of drinks in some glittering parties with my friends or eat roadside street food in the open-
air markets.
