Dear whom it may concern,

I am writing to apply for the position of being a film director at your organisation. I am suitable for this
job because I have experience of working in all areas of production when it comes to film, advertising,
and photography from the B-tec Media Extended Diploma that I took for 2 years. From this experience, I
have increased my creativity and gained the ability to tell stories through writing original screenplays
and producing Teen Coming of Age short films. With these short films, I have learnt to keep a cool head
under pressure and easily adapt to change, taking a flexible approach to meeting client requirements
and deadlines. I had the privilege of working with a diverse range of peers that have exposed and
influenced me to distinctive styles of art in moving pictures and still. This experience has molded me to
become an efficient communicator and has made me build effective working relationships. I am
confident and have a creative approach to problem solving and a strong decision maker, this stems from
when I used to direct group dances from year 7 to 9. I have also built up transmissional and conveying
skills by delegating the camera crew and actors to do the essentials of making my film visions come to
life.

I am self-motivated, with commitment to developing my knowledge and skills by volunteering to

opportunities, such as being a tour guide for my secondary school’s year 6 opening evening for 2 years
and administering the year 6 pupils and their parents around the school. Furthermore, I gave a talk in a
primary school assembly to primary school children about the expectations and the experience of being
in a secondary school and how it is different from a primary school. With these experiences, this has
increased my confidence in talking to large audiences and have gained passion in directing. I look
forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Kristie Wanjiku
