CIPP ASSIGNMENT

SHOLAY

Gabbar Singh was a man whose profession happens

to be dacoity. According to everyone watching the
movie “Sholay”, Gabbar Singh emerges as a evil.
But the question arises why he became an outlaw?
No clues is being given in the movie . There could be
many reason.
• Either he is from a family belong to lower caste
who had never been treated kind enough and
have never seen the good phase of society. Here,
Article 15 is being violated i.e discrimination on
the basis of caste ,religion etc exists in the
society.
• Or the state didn’t provided equality of
opportunity in the matter of employment. There
was inefficient scope for Gabbar Singh to excel in
positive way. As he had the leadership
quality.Here ,Article 16 is being violated i.e
inequality of opportunity in matter of public
employment prevails in the society.
On the other phase of movie:
The villagers of Ramgarh were forced to bear the
torture of Gabbar Singh. State executive department
did not performed their duties in the fear of losing
their life .Hence Article 19 clause II ,is being violated
i.e state exercise the power of making law ,insofar as
such law imposes reasonable restriction on the right
conferred in the interest of the security of state,
incitement to an offence.
Also in Article 19 ,clause I contains six fundamental
right. Some of them are also violated .
The villagers are forced to obey the dacoit Gabbar
Singh without raising voice against him because of
the fear that they may lose their life. Hence it’s
against the freedom of speech and expression .
The son of Imam Saheb was killed by Gabbar Singh
which violates freedom of movement.
