1. Spoof Text
Definition and Social Function of Spoof

• Spoof is a text which tells factual story, happened in the past time with unpredictable and
funny ending. Its social function is to entertain and share the story.

• Spoof text can be tricky as it has an unpredictable ending. This unpredictable ending is
called Twist. Because of the unpredictable ending of the story, it can be very funny and
amusing

2. Anecdote Text
Definition and Social Function of Anecdote Anecdote is a text which retells unusual incidents
in fact or imagination. Its purpose is to entertain the readers.

• Generic Structure of Anecdote text analysis:


1. Abstract a usually short narrative of an interesting, amusing, or biographical incident (The
beginning of the story)
2. Orientation The orientation sets the scene, mood and introduces the characters. Try to
include 'When', 'Where', 'Who' and 'What' in this section to explain to the reader what the
story is going to be about ( the description of a story)
3. Crisis Crisis means decision or dilemma. In a story, it's the do-or-die moment, that last
chance where the protagonist must gather all their strength, ingenuity, resourcefulness, and
courage in one final effort to defeat the opposing forces guarding the prize. (the obstacles
that exist in a story)
4. Incident. is the event that sets the main character or characters on the journey that will
occupy them throughout the narrative (things caused by cirisis)
5. Coda is a narrative element that provides the conclusion to a story (the end of a story,
usually contains wisdom)

• Language Feature of Anecdote Text:


1. Using exclamation words; it's awful!, it's wonderful!, etc
2. Using imperative; listen to this
3. Using rhetoric question; do you know what?
4. Using action verb; go, write, etc
5. Using conjunction of time; then, afterward
6. Using simple past tense

3. Triangulars Theory of love


1. Empty Love there is no love or No. liking between the two partners or one of them. Cant
generate the intimacy . can happen because of matchmaking
2. True Love there is love between two partners, can generate the intimacy, there is a
commitment
3. Incidental Love there is no commitment, usually happens because of love location. just
lust not really love

4. Story Elements
1. Exposition It is the background information on the characters and setting explained at the
beginning of the story.
2. Conflict those problems are called conflict. More precisely, conflict means thwarted,
endangered, or opposing desire (the beginning of the problem in the story)
a. internal conflict Internal conflict is when a character struggles with their own
opposing desires or beliefs.
b. External conflict sets a character against something or someone beyond their control.
3. Climax is the most intense, exciting, or important point of a story
4. Anti climax the descent of a climax in a film or story
5. The resolution is the end of the story. It occurs after the CLIMAX. It is when you learn
what happens to the characters after the CONFLICT is resolved.
6. Moral Impresion a good message that can be drawn in a story

• The characteristics
1. Anti hero a protagonist of a drama or narrative who is notably lacking in heroic
qualities (a weak or helpless character who needs help)
2. Hero is the character of a narrative story that carries the action and serves as the
main character. ( helpful and usually strong person)
3. Villain a character in a story or play who opposes the hero
4. The main Character characters who are the spotlight in a story
5. The minor character supporting characters that make the story more exciting
6. Antagonist a character who has an bad personality
7. Protagonist a character who has an good personality

5. PTSD (Past Traumatic Stress Dissorder)


Psychiatric disorder that may occur in someone who have experienced or witnessed a
traumatic event.
