From the Sapt-Sindhu region, the Aryans pushed forward and slowly occupied the whole
of Northern India. They settled in the valleys of river Ganga and Yamuna. The period
during which they found new settlements is known as the Later Vedic Period.
5. Where was the most probable place of the origin of the Indo Aryans
1500 BCE to 500 BCE in Gandhara, modern-day Pakistan and Afghanistan, is thus the
most likely locus of the earliest bearers of Rigvedic culture.
