Ans. The Second missionary was the result of discussions held by the elders,
apostles, and the entire church if circumcision was required for gentiles coming
to faith.

. Explain the emphasis and significance of second missionary journey?


Ans. Paul visited the old missionary places during his first missionary journey in
order to encourage the new believers. He also covered new places like Galatia
in Asia-Minor, Macedonian province in Europe like Phillippi, Thessalonica,

Berea, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, Caesarea, Jerusalem and finally reached
Syrian Antioch.

. What is known as Macedonian call?


Ans. Paul visited Troas and he saw a vision in the night, a man from Macedonia
standing and begging him “come over to Macedonia and help us”. Paul and his
companions got ready at once considering its a call from God to preach the
Gospel to Macedonians.

. Why was Paul persecuted in Philippi?
Ans. A female servant who was filled with a spirit of fortune telling made a good
deal of money for her owners. Upon Paul and his companions visit to the prayer
place, this girl irritated them for many days by calling out “these are men of
God who are telling you the way to be saved”. When Paul realised her intention
was not good, he turned around and commanded “in the name of Jesus Christ I
command you to come out of her”. This incident upset her owners as they lost

their source of money and dragged Paul and companions to the authorities

. Why Paul has a close relationship with Philippians church?


Ans. Philippi church grew very strong spiritiually, During his presence Lydia,
Jailor and the members of his family was saved and baptised. Also Bible refers
Philippians church was the only church initially who shared with giving and
receiving with Paul. In his epistles “Philippians”, he used the reference

Happiness many times showing how content he was with those believers and
their growth.

. What was City Athens famous for?


Ans. Athens was home for notable philosophers like socrates, Aristotle and
Plato. It was also a centre of Idols.

. Describe the Paul’s evangelistic approach at Mar’s Hill?
Ans. Paul’s laid a great example of how to evangelist among the Non-believers
or unreached people.
He appreciated their religious zeal or devotion
Mentioning their altar of unknown God, he said that the unknown God
is the creator of the whole universe
Then he tactfully stated “idol worship and offerings to idols are
meaningless”
All owe their existence to God.
Repent from all such worthless things
Judgement is sure, Jesus Christ is the Judge.
Jesus is saviour those who repent.
