Q.1. Explain construction of PMMC instrument with its working principle.

Q.2 Explain construction and working principle of dynamometer type wattmeter instrument.
Q.3 Explain construction and working principle of moving iron attraction type instrument.
Q. 4 Explain construction and working principle of moving iron repulsion type instrument.
Q. 5 Give classification of Electrical Measuring Instruments. Also explain different types of Torque for
electrical measuring instruments.
Q. 6 A PMMC instrument with a resistance of 75Ω and FSD current of 200μA is to be used as a
voltmeter with ranges 350V, 450V and 550V. Determine the required value of multiplier for each
range.

Q.7 A moving-coil instrument has a resistance of 1.0 and gives a full-scale deflection of 250
divisions with a p.d. of 0.15V. calculate the shunt required and show how it is connected to enable
the instrument to be used as a voltmeter reading upto 25 volts. If the moving coil has a negligible
temperature coefficient but the shunt has a temperature coefficient of 0.005 per degree C, what
reading will a p.d. of 30V give at 25°C, assuming the instrument reading correctly at 0°C.
