Dr. Muhammad Abdullah is currently working as an Associate Professor in Cholistan Institute


of Desert studies at The Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) since 2014. Furthermore, he
completed his Ph.D. in Forestry from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in 2013.

Dr. M. Abdullah has over 35 research publications and a book chapters titled “Forest Ecology”
in the book, ‘Textbook of Applied Forestry’ published by University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
and “Ecology of Dalbergia sissoo” in the book “Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. ex DC: Biology,
Ecology and Sustainability Agroforestry”, Publisher CRC Press Taylor & Francis Group.

His research interests include Ecology of Forests and Rangelands, Climate change impact
and adaptability, Biodiversity assessment and conservation.

He has contributed to 06 research projects- two of which include grants of 0.5 million PKR
from HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) and 6.350 million PKR from ALP
(Agricultural Linkages Program), Pakistan Agricultural Research Council-as Principal
Investigator. Furthermore, he has participated in 17 conferences/Workshops and has various
presentations.
