Check to see if your vehicle has airbags; airbags can reduce the impact of a collision's force on
an object. Airbags accomplish this by extending the time required to stop the driver and
passenger's momentum. When involved in a car accident, the driver and passenger tend to
continue moving by Newton's first law. Their momentum propels them towards a windshield,
requiring a large force to be applied quickly to stop their momentum. If the driver and passenger
hit an airbag instead of the windshield, the time duration of the impact is increased.
