Ans: six steps of strategic planning

-identify an organization's mission

-have a proper set vision

-identify priorities

-effective communication

-accountability among employees

-review the strategic plan

Active Leak should introduce the HR department to perform HR functions to

stop overworking the owner who takes those roles. He is often busy doing
other tasks and hence he might not perform the HR functions well.

Step by step explanation:

A)Based on the scenario, how would you address each of the six steps of
a strategic HRM plan -You should take time to develop a mission for
Runner's Paradise as it has Active Leak and has become a merger.Runner's
Paradise seems they want to concentrate on coming u with best designs and
having a good brand name. Those are the two reasons they initiated a buyout
for Active Leak.

They should also develop a vision to help them stay focused according to the
length of the strategic plan.A vision enables employees to stay focused to the
achievement of the strategic goals. The organization should concentrate on
priorities in the organization to avoid wasting resources on less important
things. The HR should ensure that they communicate the strategic plan to all
stakeholders and help them understand how each fit in the strategic
plan .You should ensure that employee buy it since they play a big role in its
execution. Then you should hold people accountable and assign them
responsibilities in the strategic plan implementation. The last steps involves
conducting to see how far you are from achieving the strategic plan.It can be
done at regular intervals depending with the organizations

B) How would the already identified activities (the three bullet point
identified above) fit into the HRM strategic plan steps? What changes will you
need to change to the existing activities? The first identified activity was
adjusting salaries for the sake of fairness .This step was communicated to all
affected employees. Communication is one of the steps in strategic planning
and hence this step was well conducted. When you communicate with the
employees then they will be glad to continue working towards putting the
strategic plan to life. The next identified activity is to develop job
requirements for current and new jobs. This process is vital since it holds
employees responsible for certain tasks assigned to them.If a certain task is
assigned to you then it is likely that you will do much .Filling skills inventory
of employees is important since since it enables the organization to know the
available skills and the skills that are not available in the organization .The HR
can tell the kind of workers they want to recruit even in the future. After
bringing unavailable skills in the organization then they can manage to make
the plan to become a reality.

I would change the fact that the owner is the one who conducts HR
activities.Active Leak owner despite being too busy handling other tasks he is
the HR of the organization.I would suggest that a HR department be there to
handle well the HR tasks.

C) to make an action plan for changes, you need to come with the problem
as the ones stated above about Active Leak. Then the leaders should find
solutions for the problems at hand by asking stakeholders who interact often
with the systems. The board of directors then hold meetings to come up with
the best solution among the ones proposed. You should then put the action
plan into writing in terms of the steps to be taken, time frame, obstacles in
implementing the plan and the full plan into a document. The changes in
Active Leak will be well incorporated if they follow such a plan and organized
procedures.
