Document Development Exposition: Workplace Correspondence

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
I didn’t have many challenges during planning. I knew what I wanted to talk about, and it was easy to
write about. I actually had found my topic while doing my white paper and writing the email/memo
gave me a change to talk about it.

First Draft (for peer editing)

When I was writing for wasn’t sure if I how I could give a recommendation for my subject topic in the
memo. After seeing how my classmates gave their recommendations it made me realize that I didn’t
have to have an answer I just had to have a recommendation as to what the audience of the memo
could do to fix the problem. I learned that memos are more for introducing a topic

Second Draft (for your packet)

I didn’t any problems after the peer editing. All I had to do was finish writing my memo and email.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For my portfolio I realized that I had to talk in a less formal tone. Emails and memos are internal
documents so they can be more relaxed than I first thought.
