final answer. Indicate names in each answer sheets

1. Given a tank in the form of a parabola having a height of 8 ft. and a radius of 2 ft. at its top. If the tank
is filled to a depth of 6 ft with oil weighing 50 lb/cu ft. Find the work required to pump all the oil over the
edge of the tank. (5pts.)

2. A plate in the shape of a triangle is submerged vertically and the base which is 3 ft long is in the
surface of the water. Find the altitude of the triangle if the force due to the water pressure against the
face of the plate is 50w where w is the weight per cu.ft of water.

3. Compute the area of the surface generated revolving the arc x 2 = 16 – 8Y in the first quadrant about
the y – axis. (5pts.)

4. Find the volume of the solid whose base is the area bounded by f(x) = 1 – x/2, g(x) = -1 + x/2 and

x = 0 and whose cross sections are perpendicular to the x-axis are equilateral triangles. . (5pts.)

5. Given the plane figure below, find the centroid. Note introduce an appropriate rectangular

coordinate system in the figure. . (10 pts.)

6. Given the curves x2 = -2y + 8 and x2 – 2y= 0, Find the following using double integration:

a) area bounded by the curves,

b) Mx and My and

c) centroid of the area between the curves (10 pts.)
